New York—The Wall Street Journal announced Monday the newspaper is now available for purchase at 450 Starbucks Corp. company-operated stores in the New York market. The announcement came ahead of the Journal’s introduction of a New York section in April, which is targeting the New York Times.

“This strategic relationship is consistent with the Journal’s plan to target New Yorkers, especially with the upcoming new section that will debut next month,” said Lynne Brennen, senior VP-circulation for the Journal. “The targeted distribution across New York area Starbucks stores allows us to serve our readers and is another platform for customers to sample (our) broad array of coverage.” On March 15, Starbucks began offering USA Today in its 6,500 stores nationwide; prior to that, the New York Times was the only national paper available in the company’s stores.
