Published on .

St. Louis--Investment firm A.G. Edwards has selected Interpublic Group of Cos.' Carmichael Lynch as its marketing communications agency. It marks the first such commitment to an ongoing relationship with an outside agency in the company's history. In the past, A.G. Edwards has relied on customer referrals, direct solicitations and limited local advertising by individual branches to attract customers. "Current market and competitive conditions give us tremendous opportunity to create a broader awareness among all investors about who we are and how our client-first approach can help them," said Robert L. Bagby, chairman-CEO of A.G. Edwards, in a statement.
