AABP changes name

Chicago—The Los Angeles-based Association of Area Business Publications announced at its summer meeting Friday that it has changed its name to the Alliance for Area Business Publications. The organization consists of member companies that produce local business publications in about 80 markets. “The primary emphasis is to change our focus from looking inward to looking outward, to convey to our customers that we really are the source for reaching business leaders in all of these markets,” said Executive Director C. James Dowden. Conveniently, the new name preserves the organization’s acronym, AABP.
