ABM announces 2007 Littleford Award finalists

New York—American Business Media has announced the six finalists for the 2007 William D. Littleford Awards. The awards, which recognize companies for outstanding community service, will be announced during a luncheon at the Union League Club in New York on Aug.14.

The finalists are: A.G. Edwards, for its “Nest Egg Knowledge for Kids” program, which educates kids about their financial future; Halcrow Group, for donating more than $147,000 in aid to victims of the 2004 tsunami and providing engineers to build new facilities in Africa and Sri Lanka; Library Journal, for its “Library Makeover” program; mercyFirst, for guidance and mentoring for teenagers living at mercyFirst’s St. Mary’s Campus in Syosset, N.Y.; Sheetz Inc., a family-owned chain of convenience stores that allots each store specific funds to partake in community service efforts; and Volunteers in Medicine, which established a Hilton Head, S.C., clinic to provide affordable healthcare. The Grand Littleford Award winner will receive a $3,000 donation from the Littleford Foundation.
