“It is very much a changing political landscape,” Walker told business publishing executives Monday at American Business Media’s Spring Meeting 2008. “You have built a good reputation in Washington with people who know you, and other people will have to get to know you now.”
While in the recent past, the most important regulatory issue facing the business media industry was postal reform, there are now several high-profile issues of concern in Washington, he said.
“We are dealing with questions of open access policy, behavioral targeting, privacy and intellectual property,” Walker said.
He recommended that the ABM establish a political action committee (PAC) to build relationships with members of Congress.
