ActiveSky gets $21.8 million from JK&B Capital, others

Redwood City, Calif.--ActiveSky Inc., which develops rich media-enabling software for mobile phones, has received a $21.8 million venture capital investment from JK&B Capital, PacRim Venture Partners and Innovation Capital. The company will use the funding to develop its Internet technologies which, among other things, transport video images to mobile phones. The addition of JK&B Capital, in particular, is a boon to ActiveSky. The Chicago-based VC firm's limited partners include George Soros and Goldman Sachs & Co.
