Acxiom acquires EchoTarget

Published on .

Little Rock, Ark.—Acxiom Corp. announced it has acquired EchoTarget, a New York-based online advertising company. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

EchoTarget works with online advertisers and publishers to target high-value marketing segments based on user behavior.

Acxiom said the deal gives it online targeting technologies that are similar to the data company’s targeting expertise in direct mail.

“With this acquisition, Acxiom brings to the online world targeting technologies the company pioneered in direct mail,” said Rich Howe, Acxiom’s chief marketing and strategy leader, in a statement.

He said the new product combines segment- and behavioral-based approaches to banner targeting.
