Ad agency executives pessimistic about M&A activity this year

Published on .

New York—Advertising and marketing agency executives are pessimistic about the prospects for M&A activity in their sector this year, according to an online survey of 3,700 senior advertising and marketing firm executives conducted in December by investment bank AdMedia Partners.

One-third of respondents said they expected acquisitions by strategic buyers will increase this year. That was down from two-thirds of respondents to last year’s survey. Similarly, 14% of respondents predict M&A activity from financial buyers will grow this year, down from 41% who made a similar prediction last year.
