Ad pages flat for trade publications

Advertising pages in trade publications were basically flat during February, climbing a slight 0.21% from 65,300.4 in the year-earlier period, to 65,436.1, according to just-released Business Information Network figures, which are compiled by Competitive Media Reporting for American Business Media. For the first two months of 2000, compared with the same period last year, ad pages were up 0.71% from 130,128.7, to 131,046.7. The telecommunications category showed strong growth as ad pages increased 19.17% to 9,964.6 in February, from 8,361.4 in the year-earlier period; the computer category declined 36.08%, as pages dipped from 3,610.2 to 2,307.8.
