New York—Advertising revenue for business publications grew 4.5% in July compared with the same period in 2005, according to figures released last week by American Business Media’s Business Information Network (BIN). Ad pages rose 2.2% in the period. Some of the stronger ad revenue categories included aviation, aerospace and military (up 7.8%); resources, environment and utilities (up 6.8%); and architecture, design and lighting (up 4.7%). Weaker categories included science, research and development (down 7.5%); business, advertising and marketing (down 2.6%); and computing, software and telecommunications (down 2.5%). Ad revenue was up 1.4% year-to-date, while ad pages were up 1%.
