Adler to succeed Shepard at 'BusinessWeek'

New York—The McGraw-Hill Cos.’ BusinessWeek announced Monday that Stephen J. Adler, deputy managing editor of The Wall Street Journal and editorial director of its online edition, has been appointed editor in chief of BusinessWeek. Adler will join the magazine in January and work with retiring editor in chief Stephen B. Shepard to ensure a smooth transition. Adler will officially succeed Shepard, who is retiring effective April 1 to become founding dean of the new Graduate School of Journalism at the City University of New York.
