Advanstar names publisher of ‘Travel Agent Magazine’

New York--Advanstar Communications Inc. announced Wednesday that it had named Jacob Hill as group publisher of Travel Agent Magazine and Travel Agent Magazine Custom Publishing. Travel Agent has a circulation of 50,000. Hill has nearly 14 years of publishing experience with Welsh Publishing Group and Marvel Entertainment Group. In 1997, he co-founded Group XXVII Communications L.L.C., which launched Arthur Frommer’s Budget Travel Magazine and sold it to Newsweek Inc. in 1999. In 2000, Hill went to work for Digital Convergence Corp., a high-tech start-up that developed bar code scanning technology linking traditional media to the Web.
