Advanstar revenue, EBITDA up in first half

New York—Advanstar Communications Thursday reported healthy increases in revenue and EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization) for the first half of the year. Revenue increased 13% to $165.8 million, from $146.5 million in the first half of 2005. EBITDA rose 28% to $48.4 million, from $37.8 million in the year-earlier period. For the second quarter, revenue increased 6% to $59.2 million, from $56.0 million a year earlier. EBITDA rose 47% to $9.1 million, from $6.2 million a year earlier.
