Advertising production standards established

The Graphic Communications Association has announced the creation of a Web-based numbering system for the production of advertising and publishing materials. The GCA, Alexandria, Va., said the Universal Advertising Digital Identifier will aid advertising agencies and publishers in tracking insertion orders and allow them to tie transactions to specific advertisements. CMP Media Inc. and Global Sources Ltd., a Hong Kong-based b-to-b market-maker, have entered a wide-ranging Asian content and e-commerce pact. Global Sources’ multilingual sites will be integrated across the CMP network, and CMP titles, such as EE Times and Electronic Buyers’ News, will be marketed to Global Sources’ Asia customer base.
