AIG, HSBC, others to start $100M Internet holding company

American International Group Inc., HSBC Holdings plc and three other corporations will form a $100 million holding company that will invest in Internet start-ups. The Hong Kong-based holding company, Hitrust.com, will target global Web security-related companies. The companies forming Hitrust.com include: American International Group, New York; HSBC Holdings plc, London; VeriSign Inc., Mountain View, Calif.; Acer Inc., Taipei, Taiwan; and New World CyberBase Ltd., Hong Kong.
