ALC, Zumbox team up to offer paperless postal system

By Published on .

Princeton, N.J.—Taking a step to address the declining use of direct mail, data marketing services provider American List Council has forged a partnership with Zumbox, whose technology promises to deliver paperless mail to digital corporate or personal inboxes.

ALC’s partnership with Zumbox will combine ALC’s customer acquisition and data management expertise with Zumbox’s street address-based Web platform, currently being set up for every personal and business street address in the country, according to the companies.

As part of a national rollout of the service in September, users will be able to send to these mailboxes—dubbed “Zumboxes” and based on the same street address databases used by the U.S. Postal Service—digital versions of financial statements, bills, direct mail, catalogs, publications and personal correspondence.

As part of the deal, whose terms were not disclosed, ALC Chairman-CEO Donn Rappaport will become Zumbox’s CEO.
