Allen wins leadership award from DM Club of New York

New York—Robert “Bob” Allen has been named recipient of the Mal Dunn Leadership Award, presented by the Direct Marketing Club of New York. The award will be presented to Allen at the club’s Sept. 16 luncheon event in Manhattan.

Allen, who served as president-CEO of cataloger and e-commerce company Vermont Country Store from 1994 until his retirement in 2005, was called on to serve as the interim president-CEO of the Direct Marketing Association in February, following the abrupt resignation of John A. Greco in January.

Allen served DMA as its administrative head until this month, when the association named former ad executive Larry Kimmel as its new permanent CEO.

The club’s award is named for Mal Dunn, database marketing pioneer and founder of Dunn Data Co.
