Allstate taps MarketSoft for sales-force CRM project

Northbrook, Ill.--Fortune 100 insurer Allstate Corp. has tapped Lexington, Mass.-based MarketSoft Corp. to develop a sales-force automation platform for its 13,000 agents. The platform, called DemandMore-Leads, lets sales reps and managers work in a Web-based environment, allowing for the tracking of sales leads and the sharing of marketing information in real-time. The platform is used by companies including Polaroid Corp. Allstate, as with some of its competitors, is struggling with agents disgruntled at being disintermediated by direct insurance sales over the Internet, something the company began doing last year.
