AMD launches TV campaign

Sunnyvale, Calif.--Advanced Micro Devices said Monday it will launch its first national TV campaign on Nov. 14 to support release of its AMD Athlon processor. Ads will run on ABC network and ESPN through the holidays. Dubbing the chip the ``World's fastest PC processor,'' the commercials feature a bullet train bearing down on a computer user, who has to use his personal computer to switch tracks. The ads dovetail with a print campaign, which began earlier this month in information technology publications. The campaign was developed by Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos, Boston, for undisclosed billings, said Bob Kennedy, director of worldwide advertising for AMD.
