New York—Advanced Micro Devices has put its estimated $30 million advertising account in review, following news that its agency of record, McCann Erickson Worldwide, is pursuing rival chipmaker Intel’s estimated $300 million global ad account.
McCann Erickson has been AMD’s agency of record since 2003.
"Over the past two years we’ve been proud to work with the team at AMD," said Courtney Buechert, exec VP-general manager of McCann Erickson, San Francisco.
"They’re a great group, and we wish them much success in the future," Buechert said.
Intel is in the final stages of its review, which began in the fall. It has not commented on the list of finalists. A decision is expected by the end of the first quarter, a spokeswoman said.
