American Business Press officially changes name to American Business Media

Published on .

As expected, the Scottsdale, Ariz.-based American Business Press officially changed its name to the American Business Media with a vote of its membership at the organization's annual spring meeting. ``This is another dramatic step we've taken,'' said outgoing chairman Marshall Freeman, chairman of Miller Freeman Inc. The move reflects the new membership of the organization, which in November began including as full members trade show producers and dot-com companies such as VerticalNet Inc. and ZDNet. Additionally, at its board meeting on Sunday, the ABM agreed to contribute $100,000 to help fund the study being conducted by consultants for the Magazine Publishers of America about the proposed postal rate hike of 10-15% scheduled to go into effect next year.
