New York—American Express Co. announced the formation of American Express Business Insights, an analytics and consulting organization to serve business customers.

The unit will use trend analysis to identify spending patterns among its 90 million card users around the world in order to advise clients on customized marketing strategies.

Business Insights will operate within the American Express Global Merchant Services unit.

The unit will provide consulting services such as marketing and advertising strategies, spending trend analysis, customer relationship management and new product innovation.
