The results were released at OPEN for Women: CEO Bootcamp, an inaugural event by American Express OPEN on Sept. 20 that attracted more than 1,000 female entrepreneurs. According to the survey, 74% of female small-business owners responding started their businesses from scratch, and 77% ranked themselves as “excellent” in at least one area of expertise.
