Amtrak inks IT deal with IBM

Washington--Transportation company Amtrak has signed an IT support agreement with IBM Corp. that is expected to cut $85 million in computer costs over a seven-year period. IBM will provide business recovery services, help desk and desktop support services, and manage the company's voice and data networks. IBM will also operate and service Amtrak's reservation system, Arrow, and the corporation's computing infrastructure from a data center in Manassas, Va.
