ANA, NATAS announce new Emmy award categories for advertisers

New York—Recognizing the key role that advertisers play in creating content for new media, the Association of National Advertisers and the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced four new categories of Emmy awards for advertisers.

The 59th annual Technology & Engineering Emmy Awards will honor excellence in the use, creativity and adaptation of technology that enhances or improves the consumer experience with media.

The new categories of advertiser awards are: Best use of commercial advertising on stand-alone broadband devices; best use of creation and distribution of interactive commercial advertising delivered through portable broadband devices; best use of creation and distribution of interactive commercial advertising delivered through multichannel broadband devices; and best use of broadband for the development and delivery of commercial advertising in video games.

Nominees for the awards will be announced at the ANA annual conference, which will be held Oct. 11-14, and the winners will be announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in January.
