New York—AOL Video has debuted a new platform, Editors Room, that allows editors to add premium video to their Web pages and digital publishers to generate revenue from these videos. Editors Room offers access to more than 250,000 videos from media companies such as BBC News, GigaOm, Hearst Corp. and Meredith Corp. According to AOL, Editors Room is designed to streamline searches for relevant video content and to simplify the monetization of videos with pre-roll and overlay ads. AOL's Huffington Post has beta tested Editors Room and found that readers spent 86% more time on pages with video compared with pages without video.
