New York--In a sign that the b-to-b advertising recession has extended beyond the U.S., AOL Time Warner Inc. plans to close Asiaweek, its flagship Hong Kong-based business publication. Eighty jobs will be lost from the shuttering of Asiaweek, which covers topics ranging from doing business in China to Japanese legislative reform. Asiaweek's rival, the Far Eastern Economic Review, is also under duress; last month, its editorial staff was merged with that of the Asian Wall Street Journal, its sister publication. Thirty-six jobs were eliminated.
