Aon to move corporate headquarters to London from Chicago

Published on .

Chicago—Aon Corp., a provider of risk management and HR services, plans to move its corporate headquarters to London from Chicago. The company said the move is designed to further its global growth strategy, because the London location will give it better access to emerging markets and closer proximity to the city's hubs of insurance and risk brokerage.

Aon's global strategy can be seen in its sponsorship of the Manchester United soccer club. Aon said Chicago will continue as headquarters of the Americas. The company plans to add 750 jobs in the Aon Center in Chicago.
