Apple buys app consultancy Particle

Cupertino, Calif.—Apple Inc. has acquired creative consulting start-up Particle, which specializes in handling Web and marketing projects using HTML5 technology. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. Particle clients include Apple Inc. (it helped develop elements of Apple's iTunes and iAd solutions), Google Inc., Sony Corp. and social gaming company Zynga. According to Computerworld, the acquisition of Particle may boost Apple's TV efforts.
