Apple reaches highest smartphone share ever

London—Apple Inc.'s iPhone has reached its highest-ever share of the U.S. smartphone market share, at 53.3%, according to a report by market research company Kantar Worldpanel. Android-powered phones from various manufacturers had a 41.9% share in the U.S. In Europe, marketers offering Android-powered phones, led by Samsung, retained the greatest share, with 61.0% of the market. Apple was in second place in Europe with a 25.3% share, the report said.
