Aquent finds marketing staffing up

Chicago—Aquent Marketing Staffing found that 57% of marketing companies will be hiring in 2006, up from 52% in 2005, according to its “2006 Spending and Staffing Trends for Corporate Marketing Departments” report.

The report also found that Internet marketing is the top area in which corporate marketing departments plan to increase spending, followed by branding and advertising.

Departments in which corporate marketers are hiring include project management, branding, advertising, market research and direct mail.

The survey also found that 78% of corporate marketers believe turnover will be a challenge in the next five years, and 59% are concerned about employee retention.
