Ariba makes management changes

Published on .

Mountain View, Calif.--Keith Krach, the former automotive industry executive who has become synonymous with the fortunes of Ariba Inc., has ceded his CEO post. Larry Mueller, president-COO for the e-procurement software and services company, will take over as CEO, while Krach continues as chairman. Krach had handpicked Mueller when he was first hired at Ariba in January 2000. The move comes amid rumors that Ariba might be purchased by IBM Corp. or another large technology giant.
