Arrington leaves AOL

New York—After days of controversy, Michael Arrington, the founder and editor of TechCrunch, has left AOL. The contention surrounded the potential for conflicts of interest related to Arrington's launch of Crunch Fund, a venture capital fund investing in tech start-ups of the kind often covered in TechCrunch. Co-editor Erick Schonfeld was named editor of TechCrunch. Arrington's $20 million venture fund reportedly has $10 million in funding from AOL.
