Ascend Media completes sale of Professional Services Division to BNP Media

Overland Park, Kan.—Ascend Media said Friday that it has sold its Professional Services Division to BNP Media. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. The division includes all brands associated with the Stagnito Food, Beverage and Packaging unit, including Beverage Industry, Candy Industry, the Food Safety & Security Summit and Meat & Deli Retailer, as well as the Gaming Group, which includes Casino Journal and Slot Manager. “The Professional Services Division divesture represents part of our strategic plan to align the portfolio and focus solely on the medical and health care sector, where nearly two-thirds of our business resides,” Cam Bishop, president-CEO of Ascend, said in a news release. Taggart Henderson, co-CEO of BNP Media, added in the release: “We now have robust products for any customer looking to reach each and every corner of the food, beverage, packaging and gaming markets.”
