Ascend Media sells two business units

New York—Ascend Media Holdings, an Overland Park, Kan.-based publisher, announced that is has sold two of its business units.

The Allied Healthcare Group, which has 11 magazines, including Clinical Lab Products, was sold to the Anthem Media Group, a media and marketing agency. Practice Builders, a medical consultancy, was sold to an undisclosed buyer.

Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed. Berkery Noyes & Co. advised Ascend on the deals.

Ascend, which is now owned by its lenders, including Wells Fargo, has been selling off assets since 2007. It still owns an event media group and its AIME medical education unit.
