Augme purchases mobile agency Hipcricket

New York—Mobile marketing company Augme Technologies has acquired mobile marketing and advertising agency Hipcricket Inc., Seattle, for $44.5 million in stock and cash. Augme said it will hire all of Hipcricket's employees. Both companies serve pharmaceutical and health care clients, as well as agencies, media and food companies. Last month, Augme acquired JAGTAG, which develops multimedia technology for smartphones and other mobile devices.
