Aventis launches physician services

Published on .

Bridgewater, N.J.--Aventis Pharmaceuticals Inc. on Monday launched MyDocOnline, a platform for physicians. The platform is different from many pharmaceutical sites in that it provides two-way communication between doctor's office and patient. Among the services provided are appointment scheduling, prescription refill, laboratory results and insurance verification. Aventis plans to charge an installation and subscription fee to the doctors' offices that use it. The initial target of the Internet platform is large group physician practices, but Aventis plans to begin marketing to individual doctor's offices before the end of the year.
