Avenue A/Razorfish establishes search engine marketing division

Published on .

Seattle—Avenue A/Razorfish, an interactive agency that is part of aQuantive, announced on Tuesday the launch of Avenue A/Razorfish Search, a new division dedicated to search engine marketing.

The division is being combined with eonMedia, aQuantive’s Denver-based search engine marketing service provider, which was created when it acquired search technology provider Go Toast in December 2003.

The eonMedia name will be dropped. Harrison Magun, managing director of eonMedia, has been named managing director of Avenue A/Razorfish Search, and will relocate to Seattle. He will report to Avenue A/Razorfish VP-Media Jeff Lanctot.

Lanctot said that rather than outsourcing search, the agency decided to enhance its capabilities by creating the new division. Search constitutes about 25% of the agency’s annual billings.
