B-to-b ad pages up 4.6%

New York--B-to-b ad pages increased 4.6% in October, compared with October 2003, according to the Business Information Network report released by American Business Media.

Ad revenue was up 8.1% for October, according to BIN. Year-to-date pages were up 0.9% and ad spending was up 3.3%.

The automotive category led ad page growth in October with a 15.2% increase. The services, direct response and classified category posted the largest decline, with a falloff of 7.9%.

"Fourth-quarter numbers are coming in at the range we had expected," said Gordon Hughes, ABM's president-CEO, in a statement. "We are still forecasting that we will end the year with 2% to 4% revenue growth."
