B-to-b ad pages fall 0.7%

New York—B-to-b ad pages declined 0.7% in March compared with the year-earlier period, according to Business Information Network figures released by American Business Media. In the first quarter of 2011, ad pages declined 0.2% compared with the year-earlier period. Of the 21 BIN categories, transportation and logistics was the biggest gainer in March, with a surge of 23.4% in ad pages. The biggest decliner for the month was the computing, software and telecommunications category, which was down 12.8%. Year-to-date, transportation and logistics was the category with the largest percentage gain in pages, at 26.0%, followed by automotive at 22.3%. The electronic engineering category was the largest decliner, with a fall off of 12.7% in ad pages so far this year.
