B-to-b company experiments with pricey Groupon offer

Rolling Meadows, Ill.—While group buying programs offered by Groupon and similar services are seen primarily as consumer initiatives, a Chicago-area company is experimenting with the process by offering a high-value b-to-b offer.

Business information and analytics company Ajilitee has announced a 50% discount offer for its series of informational workshops through Groupon Stores. The company's workshops, priced at $25,000, are being offered through Groupon for $12,500 through March 7.

“I think the market is finally ready for a model of social media buying for b-to-b,” Michelle Smyth, Ajilitee's director of marketing, told BtoB. “We see burgeoning interest among corporations to have their own channels for deals, whether offered by Groupon or another company.”
