B-to-b magazine ad revenue down 6% in first half

New York—Advertising revenue for b-to-b magazines declined 6% in the first half of this year compared with the year-earlier period, according to Business Information Network figures released by American Business Media.

Trade show revenue declined 1% in the first half of this year. The decline in combined trade show and magazine revenue was 2% in the first quarter and 5% in the second.

ABM said 16 of the 21 BIN categories posted declines in the first half. Five categories showed gains: agriculture (6.08%), architecture, design, lighting (1.99%), manufacturing/processing (0.61%), miscellaneous (1.53%), and professional services (1.82%).
