B-to-b media execs optimistic about ‘05

Published on .

New York—An informal poll of visitors to the American Business Media Web site revealed that b-to-b media executives are optimistic about 2005. In answer to the question, "What’s your forecast for 2005 b-to-b ad spending (compared to your best estimate for 2004)?" a large majority of respondents (82.9%) said ad spending would rise by at least 1% next year. The poll found that 58.5% of respondents said that ad spending would increase 1% to 4% in 2005, and another 24.4% were even more optimistic, saying that ad pages would increase more than 4%. Only 7.3% of respondents expected ad pages to be flat in 2005, while 9.8% said that ad pages would decrease 1% or more next year.
