The b-to-b opportunity in 2012

By Published on .

You are a member of the b-to-b marketing community, a diverse group that crosses many industries and shares an important goal: helping to drive more revenue to your company using the latest marketing strategies, tactics and tools. The year 2012 provides us all with an opportunity to improve, build and expand our businesses, our networks and our bottom lines. Marketers have been challenged in recent years to become more digitally evolved, more ROI-focused, more metrics-driven and more involved in sales engagement. Marketing now spans social and mobile in ways that didn't exist just a few years ago. In 2012, you and your team can stand out, accelerate and execute in new ways that exceed those of the past. We hope we can help you achieve the lofty goals you set. At BtoB, we strive every day to deliver more information to help your efforts at customer engagement and interaction. We understand our community of readers in a way no one else does. We know you need the latest information on b-to-b marketing, whether it's industry news, ideas from thought leaders or case studies on what works. We also know that we can introduce you to new people and new vendors with which to partner to aid your ongoing marketing activities. As your strategies change and your needs evolve, we hope you can find useful resources here to help you accomplish the job. The 2012 Marketers Resource Guide is one more way you can learn about the b-to-b community in a handy compendium of many of our most useful lists and reports. The guide provides information on key companies and people in the marketing, media and advertising universe. I encourage you to take time to look over the table of contents, focus on some of our special lists and find people and companies you can reach out to. You can also read about our 2011 Marketer of the Year, Eduardo Conrado, whose work at Motorola Solutions this past year has represented everything a b-to-b marketer should embrace in these challenging economic times. (See page 4.) Going forward, we at BtoB will continue to expand our coverage of the newest strategies, and digital tools and techniques marketers need to compete. As part of this effort, we will be hosting our first Digital Edge Marketing Conference on March 20 in San Francisco. This event will offer a full day of learning and networking opportunities, with presentations from top thought leaders throughout the digital marketing space. I hope you will join us there.
