B2B Works, Media Market Makers talk partnership

B2B Works Inc., a specialist in placing b-to-b advertising on targeted trade sites, said at the @d:tech World Conference in San Francisco that it is discussing a partnership with Media Market Makers. The deal would combine B2B Works' expertise in selling b-to-b advertising with Media Market Makers plan to provide a marketplace and tracking mechanism for direct-response Internet advertisers. B2B Works, Chicago, said it currently delivers more than 50 million page views and reaches 15 million unique users monthly. Its critical mass would be a boost to Media Market Makers, New York, which announced last month its intention to provide a marketplace for publishers and media buyers. Media Market Makers also will provide Web services that measure campaign results for direct marketers. It will charge about 15% on each advertising sale, depending on the breadth of services provided.
