B2BWorks signs major ad-rep deal with Advanstar

Published on .

Chicago-based B2BWorks, an online b-to-b advertising network, announced Thursday that it will now include Boston-based Advanstar Communications Inc.'s vertical industry Web sites in its network. Advanstar sites include www.PharmaPortal.com for the pharmaceutical industry and sensorsmag.com. The alliance with Advanstar bumps B2BWorks' Web site count to more than 300. As a result of the agreement, B2BWorks has granted stock to Advanstar and will become Advanstar's exclusive out-sourced ad selling arm for Internet advertising. The deal follows a similar agreement between B2BWorks and Phillips Business Information, Potomac, Md., signed March 6. Advanstar currently has 79 Web sites, and, with technology partner PurchasePro.com, the company plans to launch 20 vertical Web communities within the next two years, according to Skip Farber, the company's exec VP-business development.
