Babcock & Jenkins sells minority interest to TA Associates

Beaverton, Ore.--Babcock & Jenkins Direct, the high-technology direct marketing company, has sold a $15 million minority interest in itself to Boston venture capital firm TA Associates. Babcock & Jenkins provides Net-enabled direct marketing services to b-to-b-geared companies, including Oracle Corp. and Lucent Technologies. TA Associates bought a stake in Babcock in part because of the company's blue-chip client list and its database and Internet technology offerings, said Jeff Chambers, a TA Associates partner, in a statement.
