Baker named deputy editor-in-chief of ‘The Wall Street Journal’ and Dow Jones

New York—The Wall Street Journal announced Wednesday that Gerard Baker has been named deputy editor-in-chief of The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones, effective January 2009. Baker will be based in New York and will report to Robert Thomson, editor-in-chief of Dow Jones and managing editor of The Wall Street Journal. Baker is currently based in Washington, D.C., as U.S. editor and assistant editor of The Times of London, another News Corp. newspaper.
