Bank of America gets new marketing chief

Charlotte, N.C.--Cathy Bessant has been named corporate marketing executive for Bank of America Corp., succeeding Barbara Desoer, who was named consumer products group executive earlier this year. Bessant was previously small business executive for B of A, and president of Bank of America Florida, Tampa. She will be responsible for the company's marketing strategy and will oversee B of A's $145 million annual advertising budget.
