BIA/Kelsey revises downward local media revenue

Chantilly, Va.—Newspapers in the U.S. will experience an 8.1% decrease in revenue this year, according to a study by BIA/Kelsey. In March, the research company forecast that overall newspaper revenue in the U.S. would decline 5.0%. BIA/Kelsey projects U.S. newspaper revenue will fall 4.9% next year, with a negative compound growth rate of 5.4% through 2016. Both print and online revenue will continue to be affected, the company said.
